Nieuw Terbregge Housing
A Family of Roofs
This triangular corner stone in the urban plan of Nieuw Terbregge is located in the ‘valley’ between an old river dike and the A20 sound barrier. The project holds forty houses in three types: thirty tall, asymmetrically connected, semi-detached houses and ten villas. The grouping of deep and narrow houses on elongated lots makes for an open setting.
In spite of the differences in size, location and type, the houses have a strong relation through shape and color: a ‘family’ of characteristic volumes with long sloping roofs, folded in multiple ways and cut open for the sake of entrances, windows, terraces and balconies.
