Kop van ‘t Ruim Dronten

Urban Fragment

Kop van ‘t Ruim is the first corner stone of the new compact and sheltered town centre of Dronten. Two mixed-use residential and retail buildings shape one of the new centre’s main entrances. The large main building folds around the monumental clock tower of the former catholic church and creates a plaza with a view towards the park. The eastside shows a robust façade towards the parking lot. The courtyard’s façades are made of glass, wood and stucco, in accordance with its semi-public function. The smaller building is lower, but nevertheless clearly related to the main building.
