An appropriate home for denomination “De Fontein”
Royal Haskoning has developed this competition winning design to construction planning stage, also giving guidance to the design team, contractor selection, and overall management during construction.
The striking appearance of the building is accentuated by the anthracite curved masonry walls, the frivolous colored curtain wall and the steel cross on the top of the sloping roof. Tile floors, ceiling plan, main structure and roof penetration all refer to the cross. The church hall is dominated by a robust truss, technically necessary but also acting as a reference to the cross.
The church hall has a serene appearance. Color is provided by colored art glass and sunlight, thus creating a dynamic play of colored rays on the curved interior walls.
