Praktijkschool Japarastraat Rotterdam

The school building at the Japarastraat 4 has been redesigned to house the new educational center of the Horizon foundation, and the practical education of the Accent education group.
The building will be divided in three parts; the Accent part, the Horizon part and the sport facility part. The entrances will be marked with façade screens with the name of the school. It is also possible to stretch large posters on the frames on which the schools can present themselves and show, for example to use photos, what happens inside the building. The screens continue inside the building so a route is created on which educational spaces present themselves as shops in a shopping mall. We created the term “educational work center” to name the concept. It is a typological mixture of a building of offices and a shopping mall.
