Deltion Zwolle
This competition design is about an open and transparent ground scraper, a comfortable house for both teachers and students. The surrounding landscape is incorporated in the gentle undulations of the building. All rooms face onto green parklands. Old and new are linked together to form a highly functional building. The overall volume is relatively modest thanks to a ground tied, flexible building shape. The concept empowers sustainable architecture: flexible and durable. The continuous section makes use of a structural frame in which all sorts of different communities can be built, with optimum opportunities for individuality and identity. This is a school building with a public heart, a meeting place for people with a welcoming nature.
