Rembrandtpark Bridges Amsterdam
Frozen dragonflies in the park
These eight bridges, for bikes and pedestrians, replace their worn out wooden predecessors. They are light and elegant, as a modern interpretation of the typical 19th century park bridge. A CorTen steel bridge deck is embraced by balustrades made from steel and structural glass. The balustrades are made from curved and laminated glass panels which hang from the bridge with stainless steel clips. The stainless steel handrails complement the glass panels above the deck like a frame, whilst underneath the bridge the glass hangs free to allow the flow of rainwater.
