N231 Drawbridge Bosrandbrug
Replacement of the existing drawbridge
The existing bridge, situated on the N231, crossing over the circular canal of the Haarlemmermeer and next to the newly built flyover Fokkerweg, will be replaced by a new, wider steel drawbridge. The design of the new bridge has a strong relationship with the adjacent fly-over across the Fokkerweg,. A clear formal relationship arises. In open position the bridge adds something extra to the spatial experience, because at the bottom of the steel structure an image of the forest will be projected. Its surroundings is reflected.
