Klooster Bridge
Kloosterveen
An icon for Kloosterveen
The Klooster bridge is an important link across the Drentsche Hoofdvaart which divides Kloosterveen in two parts. The location of the bridge is beautiful in its simplicity, an intersection to two linear transport routes, clearly visible from all angles. When closed the high counterweights create a striking and sculptural silhouette. When opened the bridge frames the view to the other side: A landmark for Kloosterveen achieved by refinement of technique.
