Magnum Multifuel Power Plant
Unique coal fired power plant
In the north of Groningen the ultramodern Magnum Multifuel Power Plant will be build by NUON. When completed in 2011-2013, Magnum will occupy 40 to 60 hectares of land in the industrial sea harbour of Eemshaven. The buildings, structures and equipment will reach 90 meters high and it stands as a striking silhouette against the horizon. Magnum is no ordinary coal fired power plant. With the Magnum design we transform the traditional typical industrial coal fired power plant into an icon for innovative and sustainable energy.
All functions to support energy production are in the “non process building”, and the supporting facilities in the non-proces buidlings. The entire project has architecture with a dynamic and transparent look.
