Cruisepier Zaanse Schans
The Zaanse Schans is one of the historical highlights of the Netherlands and it could become a popular destination for rivercruises. The cruisepier will become its entrance.
The Julianabrug and the pier are based on the same design idea. The design is modest, respectfull towards the historical surroundings, but consciously contemporary. The decking adjusts to the width and direction of the pier with an elegant swing, in between its steel ribs. The railing and ribs slowly circle the decking to give the visitor support where it’s needed and space where it’s wanted.
