Officially open: pedestrian bridge in Ruurlo
The pedestrian bridge over the railway line in Ruurlo has officially been opened to the public on December 29th of 2011. The bridge is a great enhancement to the city of Ruurlo, say local residents. The project stems from a design competition won by Kirsten Colenbrander of Royal Haskoning Architects, a partner of Railinfra Solutions. |

The ‘Rekervlotbrug’ in the Dutch town of Koedijk is nearing completion
A ‘vlotbrug’, literally a raft bridge, has a movable (openable) section made of two pontoons and a hinged section that is connected to the river bank. During opening the pontoons slide underneath the hinged deck, thus clearing the channel. The Rekervlotbrug is a new and improved version of the traditional raft bridge. In the past this type of bridge was common in the Netherlands. |

The Rhinocentre designed a parametric script, based on the Westzanerpolder Bridge
Gerard Petersen of Rhinocentre developed a Grasshopper script (parametric) which is roughly based on the Westzanerpolder Bridge. With this script he shows the flexibility and power of parametric design. Royal Haskoning uses these smart design techniques more often in their designs. |

Opening Heuvelrug Tennis & Business Center in Doorn -
On Tuesday, September 6, 2011, the Heuvelrug Tennis & Business Center was opened by Paul Haarhuis, Raemon Sluiter and Sjeng Schalken who together formed the Davis Cup team in 2001. Tjerk Bogtstra, former captain of that Davis Cup team, and Tom Kempers started a new tennis academy here with the ambition to become number one in the Netherlands. In other words: today’s and tomorrow’s tennis champions are playing in Doorn. |

New pedestrian bridge in Zaanstad erected
In the city of Zaanstad a new pedestrian bridge has been erected across the southern ringroad. The arch bridge forms the missing link in a family of bridges that have previously been designed by us. Althogether this bridge is our fith bridge in Zaanstad, with a sixth one coming up soon. |
